    The Bayle Museum in Bridlington was once the entrance to the Bridlington Priory Church and is a grade I listed building and is scheduled as an ancient monument which makes it of great interest both architecturally and historically. The museum tells of the social history of Bridlington with collections, interactive games, listening posts, lifelike figures and much more.

    It is situated in the picturesque and historical area of Bridlington known as the Old Town. There are many exhibits including Queen Henrietta Maria’s gloves which she left behind after her voyage from Holland to raise money, troops and ammunition for King Charles I way back in 1642. In the court room there are documents giving details of crimes, fines and sentences given out to Bridlington residents during the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries.
